
Congratulations to FOCH Educational Director, Dr. Boimah Sayway
Our Friends of Crown Heights family is happy and proud to congratulate Dr. Boimah G Sayway, Educational Director of our 374 Pine Street Center, on the conferral of his Ph.D. in Special Education from Liberty University. Dr. Sayway graduated with distinction after successfully defending his dissertation, titled “Quantitative Causal-Comparative Study to Determine the Difference in Perception of Inclusive Education among Teachers in Preschool, Elementary, and Middle School.“
“This research represents a comprehensive investigation into how educators across various grade levels perceive and implement inclusive education practices,” Dr. Sayway explained. “The findings provide valuable insights that contribute to the broader discourse on educational inclusivity and offer practical implications for educational policy and classroom implementation.” (The complete dissertation is available through Scholars Crossing for anyone interested in exploring the research methodology and conclusions in detail.)
With well over a decade of continuous experience in educational leadership and instruction, Dr. Boimah Gardner Sayway is a career educator who is widely acclaimed among his colleagues and staff for his hands-on leadership style and commitment to building strong partnerships with families while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the Center he leads. Throughout his career, he has consistently created effective learning environments that empower educators, encourage collaboration and elevate student outcomes. His unwavering commitment to teamwork and unique ability to integrate creativity with organizational policies have earned
him the unstinting admiration and loyalty of staff and families alike.
Before joining our Friends of Crown Heights family, Dr. Sayway had previously served as a preschool teacher and Educational Coordinator with Lutheran Social Services of New York, where he honed his skills in curriculum design and staff mentorship. He had also served with
distinction as an Educational Director with the Brooklyn Kindergarten Society. In addition to his Ph.D. in Special Education, Dr. Sayway holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration from Lehman College (City University of New York), a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education from the City University of New York, and the New York State Professional Teaching Certification. A prolific author, he has published more than a dozen children’s books, blending educational themes with imaginative storytelling to inspire young
minds. Notable titles include The Bee and the Plant and Let’s Explore Tubes and Tunnels. Through his academic accomplishments, professional leadership, and creative contributions to children’s literature, he has established himself as an influential figure in the field.
Guided by the philosophy that a child’s environment or zip code should not determine their success, Dr. Sayway is deeply committed to ensuring that every learning space under his leadership offers high-quality and equitable opportunities tailored to diverse learning styles. Beyond his educational endeavors, he is also an accomplished musician, skilled in playing the piano, jazz drums and guitar. Additionally, he shares his passion for history and culture as a content creator on his YouTube channel, engaging audiences with insightful explorations of global stories.
