June Self-Care Tips
As summer begins, many families find themselves adjusting to new schedules and activities. ☀️ As routines change and summer plans start to fill the calendar, it can help to focus on a few simple habits that support both you and your child throughout the month.
Here are a few June self care tips from our social worker, Kareen Santana, LMSW:
1. Ease into Summer Routines
June often brings schedule changes. Keep naps, meals, and bedtime as consistent as possible to help your child adjust smoothly.
2. Enjoy Early Summer Outdoor Time
Take advantage of longer days with morning or evening outdoor play when it’s cooler and more comfortable.
3. Focus on Simple Seasonal Activities
Water play, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, stroller walks, and park visits are perfect June activities, no planning stress needed.
4. Protect Your Energy During Busy Transitions
End-of-school-year events and summer planning can feel overwhelming. Take short breaks when you can and don’t overcommit.
5. Build Your Summer Support Plan
Connect with caregivers, family, or other parents early in the month so you have support in place for the weeks ahead.
June Reminder
You don’t have to do everything this month just enough to keep your child happy, safe, and connected while also caring for yourself.
