Dr. Tamika Stewart (DSW, LMSW, MSEd, SB-RPT, SATP), serves as the Director of Early Intervention & Related Services at The Friends of Crown Heights Educational Centers, and heads the agency’s Pre-school Special Education program. She is an accomplished Social Worker and career educator, a published author and advocate with extensive experience and expertise in Early Intervention, special education, autism support, mental health, marriage and family therapy, and sexual addiction treatment.

Dr. Stewart holds the Doctor of Social Work degree, a Master of Science in Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling. She earned her doctoral and graduate degrees from Long Island University and completed specialized professional training in sexual addiction treatment through MidAmerica Nazarene University. Her academic journey also included studies at The College of New Rochelle, Capella University, Alfred University, and Hofstra University.

Dr. Stewart proudly led the development and establishment of our Friends of Crown Heights’ 4410 Preschool Special Education Program, expanding access to specialized educational opportunities for young children with disabilities.

As a published author, her works include Different Is Beautiful; Autism, Early Intervention & CPSE: A Parent’s Guide to Understanding the Process; Who Can Touch Me? and Poop Pie. Her upcoming works include Still Soft: A Memoir of Survival, Femininity, and Self-Return and The Amazing Adventures of Meekee and Her Best Friend Luna, a children’s book series celebrating imagination, friendship, neurodiversity, and confidence.
