Kimley Perkins is the Educational Director at our New Lots Avenue Center — located at 370 New Lots Avenue in the Brownsville / East New York section of Brooklyn. She had previously served with distinction as Assistant Director at both our Dumont Avenue and Sterling Place Early Childhood Education programs. And before joining our Friends of Crown Heights family, she had for more than a decade served as Educational Director with the Shirley Chisholm Day Care Centers.

Ms. Perkins is an accomplished career educator and early childhood specialist. She is a former Pre-K and First Grade teacher with extensive classroom experience and wide-ranging expertise in the field. To her role as educational leader of our New Lots school community, she brings a well-established track record of proven commitment to high-quality education in a nurturing, child-centered and creative environment that effectively engages our children as active learners.

Ms. Perkins holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Computer Science from Long Island University, and the Master of Science degree in Education from Cambridge College in Boston, Massachusetts. She also holds the New York State Teacher Certification in both Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2) and Elementary Education (Grades 1-6).
