Patricia Atkins
Educational Director - 671 Prospect Place - Crown Heights
Patricia Atkins is the Educational Director at our 671 Prospect Place Center in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. She is a career educator who brings to her position nearly two decades of combined classroom experience, pedagogical expertise and educational leadership in New York state and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is a former Educational Director with the Weeksville Gardens and Tomkins Children’s Centers of the Brooklyn Kindergarten Society, as well as our own Friends of Crown Heights Sutter Avenue Center, where she was directly responsible for the supervision and administrative leadership of all staff, including the implementation of all instructional, professional development and family engagement activities.
Ms. Atkins holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College, as well as the dual Master’s degree in School Building and School District Educational Leadership. She also holds the New York State Professional Certification in Early Childhood Education. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Nyack College, and before embarking on her career in education, had previously served for 10 years as an Emergency Medical Technician with the NYC Fire Department’s Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. She is especially passionate about the development of the whole child and will be working closely with our families and surrounding community to further consolidate our reputation as the leading provider of safe, innovative and high-quality Early Childhood Education in the City of New York.
