Tashoy Saddler serves as the Educational Director of our Friends of Crown Heights Educational Center located at 671 Prospect Place in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. The Center provides a comprehensive, year-round Early Childhood care and education program serving children from three months to five years old, including full-day Infant, Toddler, 3K and Universal Pre-K programs.

Ms. Saddler has spent her entire adult life as a career educator, beginning as an Assistant Teacher at the high school level in her native country of Jamaica. Encouraged by the experience, she enrolled in Teachers’ College, where she specialized in Elementary Education and graduated with the honors diploma. While teaching the 3rd and 5th grades in a private elementary school, she pursued additional studies at Northern Caribbean University, where she earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.

Since migrating to the United States, Ms. Saddler has opted to specialize in the field of Early Childhood Education. Over the past decade, she has held positions of increasing instructional and supervisory responsibility, including her former tenure as Group Teacher and Educational Director at our East 40th Street Center in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. Ms. Saddler has earned the Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY), as well as her permanent New York State certification in the field. Additionally, she has attained the Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Leadership as well as the Master of Education degree in Progressive Leadership from the prestigious Bank Street College of Education, culminating in her School Building Leadership certification.

Ms. Saddler is an active member of the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators (CSA) union, serving as the Early Childhood Chairperson for Brooklyn and as a Trustee member. In 2025 she was honored with the Ernest A. Logan Unionist of the Year Award in recognition of her leadership and contributions in the Early Childhood Education sector. 

Ms. Saddler is deeply committed to fostering environments in which children can thrive. As she states: “I sincerely believe that every child has the innate ability to learn — provided that the environment is safe, comfortable and conducive to learning. The onus is on us, as professional educators, to create that space and facilitate that process.”
